Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Location: Sheffield

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for talented and motivated Design and Technology Teachers to work in schools across Sheffield.

As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will inspire students to think creatively, solve problems practically, and develop a broad understanding of design principles and manufacturing processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who thrives in a hands-on environment and wants to bring DT to life for the next generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver stimulating Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to support KS5 where applicable
  • Guide students through design processes, from initial concept through to finished product
  • Assess student work consistently and provide constructive, developmental feedback
  • Manage workshop and classroom environments safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines
  • Differentiate teaching to engage and challenge students across all ability ranges
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development
  • Foster creativity, independent thinking, and technical skill in every lesson

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • A degree in Design and Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of design processes, materials, and practical techniques
  • Strong classroom and workshop management skills
  • An enthusiastic, student-centred approach to teaching and learning
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
