Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for dependable and motivated Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Sheffield.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of classes across a variety of subjects, ensuring pupils remain engaged with pre-set work while maintaining a positive and structured learning environment. Whether you're building towards a career in teaching or looking to make a meaningful contribution to education, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a real classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences across a range of subjects
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students focused on assigned tasks
- Foster a calm, respectful, and productive classroom atmosphere
- Manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies
- Offer guidance and support to pupils as they work through set activities
- Liaise with teaching staff regarding any concerns or incidents
- Uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all learners
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence in managing a classroom independently and professionally
- Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions with minimal supervision
- A flexible, proactive, and reliable approach to work
- A genuine enthusiasm for education and young people's development
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
