Job Title: Psychology Graduate TA
Location: Tamworth
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Tamworth.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in education, educational psychology, counselling, social work, or mental health support. As a Psychology Graduate TA, you will work closely with students who may require additional academic, emotional, or behavioural support, helping them engage positively in education.

Main Responsibilities of a Psychology Graduate TA:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students in the classroom
  • Support students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
  • Help students develop confidence, social skills, and emotional regulation
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Support behaviour management strategies and pastoral interventions
  • Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements of a Psychology Graduate TA:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Interest in education, mental health, counselling, or educational psychology careers
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
