Job Title: Trauma Informed Practitioner
Location: Tamworth
Salary: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Trauma Informed Practitioners to work in schools across Tamworth.

As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will support students both academically and emotionally, helping them build trust, confidence, and positive relationships within the school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning caused by trauma, emotional challenges, or adverse childhood experiences.

Responsibilities of a Trauma Informed Practitioner:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Support students affected by trauma, anxiety, or adverse childhood experiences
  • Build trusting and positive relationships to encourage engagement and progress
  • Implement trauma-informed approaches and behaviour support strategies
  • Support students’ emotional regulation and social development
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals
  • Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements of a Trauma Informed Practitioner:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or trauma-related needs is desirable
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively
  • Experience in education, youth work, care, mental health, or support settings is beneficial
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
