Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Walsall
Pay rate: £95–£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from motivated Behaviour Mentors to work in schools across Walsall. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may need additional guidance with behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils to build confidence, improve behaviour, and encourage positive attitudes towards education.

Key Duties of Behaviour Mentors:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring support to pupils.
  • Help pupils manage behaviour and develop emotional regulation skills.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage progress.
  • Support teachers and pastoral staff in implementing behaviour strategies.
  • Encourage attendance, engagement, and participation in learning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to school staff.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a mentoring or support role.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations in a professional manner.
  • Genuine passion for supporting pupils’ personal and academic development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
