Position: Teacher of Mathematics
Location: Thurrock
Salary Scale: £120 - £300 Per day
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
GSL are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to support students in a secondary school setting. This role involves delivering high-quality Mathematics lessons and helping students develop strong numeracy skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in Maths.
You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum, build resilience, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including:
- Delivering engaging Mathematics lessons across a range of topics
- Supporting exam preparation and GCSE assessments
- Monitoring and supporting student progress through targeted feedback
- Enrichment and extracurricular activities such as clubs, competitions, and wider school events
As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with colleagues and other professionals to deliver high-quality teaching and create a positive learning environment that enables all students to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4
- Foster curiosity, resilience, and problem-solving skills through engaging teaching approaches
- Prepare students for GCSE assessments and examinations
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a strong work ethic
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
- Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Commitment to raising achievement and supporting all learners
- A proactive and collaborative approach to teaching
