We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team full-time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting young people, particularly those with additional needs, to thrive in a mainstream school setting.

The Role:

As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students across the secondary age range, working closely with teaching staff to ensure all learners can access the curriculum effectively. Your responsibilities will be varied and rewarding, including:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a range of abilities and needs
  • Working 1:1 with students who hold Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Providing targeted support in small groups and in-class settings
  • Assisting students with learning activities across a range of subjects
  • Supporting the development of literacy, numeracy, and independent learning skills
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour positively and consistently
  • Promoting student engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals
  • Supporting safeguarding and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people (school-based or similar settings preferred)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • A proactive and flexible attitude to supporting learning
