Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will help learners regulate emotions, stay engaged in lessons and develop strategies to manage behaviour and learning challenges effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in classroom and 1:1 settings

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils

  • Help create a safe and structured learning environment

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH or similar settings

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
