Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to support students in their learning journey? A supportive secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to step into lessons and maintain continuity in the absence of teaching staff.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain on task and engaged. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide guidance where needed and create a calm learning atmosphere in line with school policies.
Responsibilities:

Supervise classes during teacher absence using pre-prepared lesson plans

Maintain a focused and orderly classroom environment

Manage student behaviour in line with school expectations

Provide support and clarification to students where required

Ensure all work is completed and collected at the end of the lesson

Report back to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour
Requirements:

Previous experience working with young people is desirable

Strong classroom presence and confidence managing groups

Excellent communication and organisational skills

A calm, adaptable and professional approach

A genuine interest in education and student development
