Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full Time / Part Time
Start Date: Immediate or September 2026
GSL Education are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in York.

This well-established secondary school provides a structured and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop strong literacy skills and a love for reading. The English department works collaboratively to deliver engaging lessons and support pupil progress.
Responsibilities
- Teach English across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress
- Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations
- Promote reading, writing and critical thinking skills
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
- Strong subject knowledge
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
