Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are searching for a committed Attendance Officer to work with schools in Sheffield, helping to monitor and improve student attendance and ensure pupils are fully supported in accessing their education.

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in tracking attendance data, working closely with students, families, and school staff to address absence issues and promote consistent attendance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance records accurately.
  • Identify patterns of absence, lateness, or persistent absenteeism.
  • Contact parents/carers regarding attendance concerns.
  • Work closely with pastoral teams to support at-risk students.
  • Maintain up-to-date attendance systems and records.
  • Support strategies to improve overall school attendance rates.

Requirements of Attendance Officer:

  • Previous experience in a school or administrative setting is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • A proactive and supportive approach when working with families.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
