School Receptionist
Location: Hackney
Salary:
£100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Monday, 11th May 2026 (after half term)
Contract Type: Long Term, Part Time, 21.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 11:45am – 4:00 pm

GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Receptionist to join a welcoming school in Hackney. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong administrative and communication skills to play a vital role in the smooth running of a busy school environment.

About the Role:

As a School Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and students, ensuring a professional and friendly front office experience. This is a part-time position with fixed, non-negotiable hours, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced school setting.

Responsibilities for School Receptionist:

  • Provide a warm and professional front-of-house service, greeting visitors and managing enquiries.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate student records and administrative systems.
  • Use SIMS to manage attendance, admissions, and other school data.
  • Support staff and leadership team with administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, including visitor sign in protocols.

Requirements for School Receptionist:

  • Previous receptionist experience
  • Experience working in a school setting
  • Strong working knowledge of SIMS
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of InVentry – desirable
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Must be available to start immediately after the half term break
