Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley.
As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students’ physical abilities, confidence, and teamwork skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to deliver engaging Physical Education lessons and encourage students to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities of a PE Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach a variety of sports and physical activities across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and positive behaviour through sport
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Encourage participation and engagement in physical education
- Organise and support extracurricular sports activities and events
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment during practical lessons
- Support students’ physical, social, and emotional development
Requirements of a PE Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
- Experience teaching PE in a school setting is desirable
- Experience coaching different sports with children or young people
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A proactive and energetic approach to teaching
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
