Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from skilled Design and Technology Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity to help pupils develop hands-on skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

As a Design and Technology Teacher (DT), you will deliver engaging lessons that encourage innovation and technical understanding across a range of materials and design processes.

Key Duties:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons across key stages.
  • Teach areas such as product design, resistant materials, and basic engineering concepts.
  • Support pupils in developing practical skills, creativity, and technical knowledge.
  • Ensure the safe use of tools, machinery, and workshop environments.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working as a Design and Technology Teacher in a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to deliver practical lessons safely and effectively.
  • An engaging, enthusiastic, and hands-on teaching approach.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
