Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are searching for a passionate Geography Teacher to work in schools across Barnsley, delivering engaging lessons that promote enquiry, critical thinking, and global awareness.

As Geography Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured Geography lessons, supporting pupils in exploring both physical and human geography while developing key analytical and research skills.

About the role

As a Geography Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students understand environmental issues, global challenges, and the interconnected nature of the modern world.

Core responsibilities of Geography Teacher:

  • Deliver well-planned Geography lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Encourage enquiry, discussion, and independent thinking
  • Support pupils in developing map skills and data analysis
  • Promote awareness of environmental and global issues
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

What we are looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Geography in a school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
