Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A specialist and supportive range of educational settings in Rotherham are seeking resilient and compassionate SEMH Teachers to work with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH difficulties. You will focus on creating a calm and supportive classroom environment while adapting teaching strategies to help students regulate behaviour and access learning successfully.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to SEMH learners

  • Create a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment

  • Manage behaviour using consistent and trauma-informed approaches

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

  • Support emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning

  • Work closely with support staff and wider school teams

  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil development plans

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Experience working with SEMH or in alternative provision settings

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Calm, resilient and patient approach

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable learners

  • Flexible and adaptable teaching style
