Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning and manage their emotions in a positive way. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities:

Support students with SEMH needs in classroom and small group settings

Assist teaching staff in delivering structured and accessible learning activities

Help students regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies

Promote positive behaviour and consistent routines throughout the school day

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement

Provide feedback to staff on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations

Ability to remain consistent and professional at all times

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners in education
