Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning and manage their emotions in a positive way. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in classroom and small group settings

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering structured and accessible learning activities

  • Help students regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies

  • Promote positive behaviour and consistent routines throughout the school day

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement

  • Provide feedback to staff on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations

  • Ability to remain consistent and professional at all times

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners in education
