Job Title: Sports Coach / Learning Support
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
GSL Education is looking for energetic and motivated individuals with a sports, coaching, or fitness background to work in secondary school settings across Worksop. These roles are school-based and focus on supporting learning, supervising classes, and helping students stay engaged and on track throughout the school day.
This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to move out of sports or fitness environments and into education, using their coaching experience to positively influence young people in a structured classroom setting.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for individuals from sports coaching, fitness instruction, or youth engagement backgrounds who are keen to work within schools. You will support teachers, supervise lessons, and assist with maintaining focus and positive behaviour in the classroom. Your experience in motivating and leading groups will be key in helping students stay engaged in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Support teaching staff with classroom-based learning activities

Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher as a learning support assistant or cover supervisor

Use sports and coaching experience to encourage engagement and positive behaviour

Support students in staying focused and following lesson expectations

Help maintain a structured, calm, and productive learning environment

Provide feedback to staff on student participation and behaviour
Requirements:

Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work, or similar people-focused roles

Confidence working with groups of young people in a structured setting

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

Genuine interest in supporting students in an education environment
