Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Secondary focus
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you motivated to support secondary-aged students and help them overcome barriers to learning? A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide targeted support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a vital role in helping pupils stay engaged, manage their learning, and build confidence within the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining classroom structure

  • Work with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

  • Provide additional support for pupils with varying learning needs

  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policies

  • Encourage participation and engagement in lessons

  • Assist with preparing and adapting learning materials

Requirements:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students is advantageous

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport

  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Confidence in supporting students with additional needs

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
