Job Title: DT/Art/Food Tech Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay rate: £200 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Long-Term (with potential temp to perm for the right candidate)

GSL Education are hiring a skilled and versatile DT / Art / Food Technology Teacher to work with schools in Middlesbrough, delivering engaging lessons across creative and practical subjects.
As a DT (Design and Technology) / Art / Food Technology Teacher, you will plan and deliver well-structured lessons that encourage creativity, technical skill development, and safe practical work, including the use of workshop machinery and equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons across Design Technology, Art, and/or Food Technology.
- Teach practical skills including designing, making, cooking, and evaluating work.
- Safely operate and supervise the use of workshop machinery and specialist equipment.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant workshop/kitchen/classroom environment.
- Encourage creativity, independence, and problem-solving skills.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery.
Requirements of DT / Art / Food Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching DT, Art, or Food Technology in a school setting.
- Confidence and proven experience using large machinery (e.g., saws, drills, workshop equipment) safely.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures in practical environments.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
