Job Title: Trauma Informed Practitioner
Location: Birmingham
Pay rate: £95–£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from dedicated Trauma Informed Practitioners to work in schools across Birmingham. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils by providing understanding, structure, and emotional support.
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will support pupils who may have experienced adverse childhood experiences, helping them feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.
Key Duties of Trauma Informed Practitioner:
- Provide targeted support to pupils affected by trauma and attachment difficulties.
- Build safe, consistent, and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support emotional regulation and help pupils develop coping strategies.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.
- Implement trauma-informed approaches within the classroom environment.
- Support behaviour management using calm, empathetic strategies.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, trauma, or attachment needs.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice (training desirable).
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain supportive and consistent in challenging situations.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
