Job Title: Year 2 Teacher
Location: Nottingham (NG1)
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a dedicated Year 2 Teacher ready to support pupils at a key stage in their learning journey?
GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teachers to work in schools across Nottingham (NG1).
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing pupils’ confidence, independence, and core skills in literacy and numeracy, while preparing them for end-of-key-stage expectations.
Main Responsibilities of a Year 2 Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Prepare students for KS1 assessments and support academic progress
- Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Use a range of teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and staff
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers
Requirements of a Year 2 Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2, is desirable
- Strong understanding of KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- A patient, engaging, and supportive teaching style
- A genuine passion for primary education
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
