Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sunderland
Pay rate: £95 - £115 Per Day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from dedicated Behaviour Support staff to work in schools across Sunderland. This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils overcome challenges and stay engaged with their learning.

As a Behaviour Support, you will work closely with pupils who need additional guidance, helping them develop positive behaviour, confidence, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils in managing their emotions.
  • Work alongside teachers to implement behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Support pupils during lessons and unstructured times.
  • Monitor and report on pupil behaviour and development.

Requirements of Behaviour Support:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a behaviour support role.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain consistent and professional in challenging situations.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ development and wellbeing.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
