1:1 SEN Support Worker
Location: Darlington
Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible
A supportive and inclusive school in Darlington is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Worker to join their team. This 1:1 SEN Support Worker role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a real difference on an individual basis.
The successful 1:1 SEN Support Worker will work closely with a pupil requiring additional support, helping them to access learning and develop confidence within the classroom. As a 1:1 SEN Support Worker, you will provide tailored support in line with the pupil’s individual needs, including academic, social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEN Support Worker:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN.
- Supporting learning activities and classroom engagement.
- Implementing individual education plans and support strategies.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Assisting with communication and social development.
- Helping to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal 1:1 SEN Support Worker Will:
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
- Be patient, nurturing and resilient.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident supporting pupils with varying needs.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
- Have a fully checkable work history.
This 1:1 SEN Support Worker role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
