Teacher of English
Location: North Yorkshire (York, Selby and surrounding areas)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Time / Part Time / Long-Term & Permanent Opportunities
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS) or competitive daily rates for supply
GSL Education are currently recruiting qualified Teachers of English to work across a range of secondary schools and alternative provisions in North Yorkshire from September 2026. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, we have a variety of opportunities to suit your preferences.
The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available in some settings).
- Inspire a love of reading, writing, and literature.
- Support students of varying abilities, including those with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the national curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Who We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Passion for supporting student progress and engagement.
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
ECTs are encouraged to apply and will be fully supported.
