Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A number of secondary schools in Barnsley are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teachers to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality teaching, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and ensure students are supported in achieving their learning goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Assess, monitor and track student progress

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners

  • Provide feedback to students to support development

  • Contribute to departmental planning and school-wide initiatives

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Experience teaching Science in secondary school settings

  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry or Physics

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Professional, reliable and adaptable approach

  • Ability to inspire and engage young learners
