Job Title: Sports Coach / Learning Support
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
GSL Education is seeking motivated individuals with a sports, coaching, or fitness background to work within secondary school-based support roles across Sheffield. These positions are not focused on delivering sport, but instead on supporting learning, behaviour, and classroom engagement in a structured education setting.
This is a great opportunity for those looking to move away from traditional sports environments and into school-based support, using coaching skills in a completely different context.
About the Role:
This role is suited to individuals from a sports or coaching background who are looking to work in education. You will support students in classrooms, assist with behaviour management, and help maintain engagement during lessons. Your experience in sport will be used as a foundation for building structure, motivation and positive routines for young people.
Key Responsibilities:

Support teachers with classroom-based learning and supervision

Work as a learning support assistant or cover supervisor when required

Use coaching experience to encourage engagement and positive behaviour

Help maintain focus and structure across the school day

Support small groups or individual students where needed

Contribute to a safe, calm and productive learning environment
Requirements:

Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work or similar transferable roles

Confidence working with young people in a group setting

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Adaptable, reliable and professional attitude

Genuine interest in supporting students in education
