Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may present with challenging behaviour or additional emotional needs. You will support them in lessons, help them regulate their emotions, and encourage positive engagement with learning. This role requires patience, resilience and a calm, consistent approach.
Responsibilities:

Support students with SEMH needs in the classroom and around school

Assist teachers in delivering structured and accessible learning activities

Use de-escalation strategies to manage behaviour effectively

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

Help maintain a safe, calm and supportive learning environment
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional needs is desirable

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A calm, patient and resilient approach

Ability to build rapport with vulnerable learners

A genuine commitment to supporting emotional and educational development
