Job Title: Criminology graduate

Pay rate: £100 -£130 Per day (Depending on experience)

Are you a Criminology graduate looking to gain meaningful experience supporting young people in an educational setting?

GSL Education are seeking a motivated Criminology Graduate to work with schools in Northumberland, supporting students who may have behavioural, social, or emotional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates interested in careers in education, youth work, psychology, or criminal justice, where you can apply your knowledge in a practical and rewarding environment.

As a Criminology Graduate, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support students, helping them manage behaviour, stay engaged in learning, and develop positive coping strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with behavioural or SEMH needs.
  • Support students in managing behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Assist teachers in maintaining a calm and structured classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and trust.
  • Help implement behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Monitor progress and report any concerns or improvements to staff.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Criminology.
  • A strong interest in working with young people, particularly those with behavioural needs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
