Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant – SEMH

Location: Scarborough
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full Time / Part Time
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking a resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist setting in Scarborough.

About the School

This provision focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, offering a structured and supportive environment. Staff prioritise relationship building, consistency and behaviour support strategies to help pupils re-engage with learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Assist with de-escalation strategies and routines
  • Encourage positive engagement and resilience
  • Work closely with pastoral and teaching teams

Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEMH / behaviour needs
  • Strong resilience and calm approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
