Autism Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full Time / Part Time
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Autism Support Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist setting in Scarborough.
About the School
This specialist provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on Autism (ASC). The school provides a structured and predictable environment, using consistent routines and tailored strategies to support communication, engagement and independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism
- Implement structured routines and visual support strategies
- Support communication and social interaction
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
Requirements
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC / Autism
- Understanding of strategies such as visual timetables or structured support approaches
- Patient, calm and consistent approach
- Strong communication skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
