Job Title: Attendance Support Assistant
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time (5 days a week)

GSL Education are seeking committed and organised Attendance Support Assistants to work in schools across Newcastle Upon Tyne.
As an Attendance Support Assistant, you will work closely with pastoral teams, students, and parents, often travelling between locations, to ensure consistent engagement and positive outcomes.
Responsibilities of an Attendance Support Assistant:
- Monitor and track student attendance, identifying patterns and concerns
- Follow up on absences through phone calls, home visits, and communication with families
- Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to support at-risk students
- Conduct home visits where necessary to support attendance improvement
- Maintain accurate records and update attendance systems
- Support students in returning to school and re-engaging with learning
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies
- Promote the importance of regular attendance and punctuality
Requirements of an Attendance Support Assistant:
- A clean driving licence and ability to drive (essential)
- Experience working with young people, families, or in a school setting is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
- A proactive, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Must be available 5 days a week (full-time)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
