Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time (5 days a week)

GSL Education are seeking passionate and committed English Teachers to work in schools across Newcastle Upon Tyne.

As an English Teacher, you will create engaging lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for literature. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is enthusiastic about delivering high-quality English lessons and supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, and communication skills.

Teacher of English Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach English across Key Stages, preparing students for assessments and examinations
  • Encourage students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Maintain strong classroom management and promote positive behaviour
  • Support students’ academic and personal development
  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development

Requirements of an English Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Must be available to work 5 days a week (full-time)
  • A degree in English, Literature, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching English in a school setting is desirable
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring young learners
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
