Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: £460 - £650 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

GSL Education are seeking energetic individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or fitness to support schools across Sheffield.

Although the title is Sports Coach, this role is based in educational settings. The focus is on supporting pupils in classrooms, helping with behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged and focused during lessons.

This is well suited to people who are confident leading groups and want to apply their coaching skills in a school environment.

Sports Coach - Overview of the Role

You will work as part of the school support team, assisting teachers across a variety of lessons and year groups. The role involves supporting learning activities, supervising classes, and contributing to a structured and positive school day.

Your coaching experience will be valuable in building relationships with students and encouraging positive behaviour and participation.

Main Duties of Sports Coach:

  • Support students during lessons and classroom activities
  • Assist teaching staff in maintaining engagement and focus
  • Supervise classes when required and follow school behaviour policies
  • Support individuals and small groups with additional learning needs
  • Use coaching skills to encourage motivation and resilience
  • Help with general classroom organisation and daily routines

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience in sports coaching, fitness instruction, youth work, or similar roles
  • Confidence working with groups of young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, consistent, and professional approach
  • Interest in working within education settings

What This Role Offers:

This position provides a strong introduction to school-based work and supports progression into roles such as behaviour support, classroom assistant, or cover supervision.

Requirements of Sports Coach:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two recent references
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one
