Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S5/S9)
Salary: Up to £220 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A number of secondary schools across Sheffield (S5/S9) are seeking a dedicated and confident English Teacher to deliver engaging and purposeful lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver creative and well-structured lessons that develop students’ reading, writing and analytical skills. You will inspire engagement with literature and language while maintaining a positive and focused classroom environment that supports progress and achievement.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan, prepare and adapt lessons to meet varying ability levels

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Assess, track and report on student progress

  • Promote enjoyment and understanding of English language and literature

  • Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with department staff where required

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Confident, organised and adaptable approach

  • Commitment to supporting student progress and achievement
