Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning. You will support both in and out of the classroom, helping pupils regulate behaviour, engage in lessons and develop positive coping strategies in a structured setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering structured learning activities

  • Help manage behaviour using calm, consistent approaches

  • Support students in developing emotional regulation strategies

  • Encourage engagement, confidence and positive interactions

  • Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively

  • Genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
