Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week

Start Date: Immediately

GSL Education is seeking energetic and adaptable individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or physical activity to work in secondary school settings across Worksop. These roles are school-based and focus on supporting learning, behaviour, and classroom engagement rather than delivering sport.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to transition from sport into education, using coaching skills such as communication, structure, and motivation to support students in a classroom environment.

About the Role:
This position is suited to individuals from sports coaching or fitness backgrounds who are keen to work in education settings. You will be supporting students in lessons, assisting teaching staff, supervising classes, and helping maintain a positive and focused learning environment. Your sports background will be used to build rapport, encourage engagement, and support behaviour and structure across the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff with classroom learning and activities

  • Supervise classes as part of cover supervision or learning support duties

  • Use transferable coaching skills to engage and motivate students

  • Support positive behaviour and encourage active participation in learning

  • Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment

  • Provide feedback to staff on student engagement and progress

Requirements:

  • Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work, or similar roles

  • Confident working with groups of young people in a structured setting

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Adaptable, reliable, and professional approach

  • Genuine interest in supporting education and student development

This is an excellent opportunity for sports coaches or active professionals in Worksop to step into school-based roles and gain valuable experience supporting young people in education.
