Job Title: 1-1 SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington
Pay rate: £105-£115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

Are you a patient and resilient 1-1 SEMH Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs?

Schools in Dinnington and GSL Education are searching for a compassionate 1-1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support to pupils who require additional guidance to engage in learning and manage emotions.

As a 1-1 Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with a specific pupil, helping them access learning, regulate behaviour, and build positive relationships within the school environment. You will play a key role in promoting confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Duties:

  • Provide tailored 1-1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Assist with learning activities and classroom engagement.
  • Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • A calm, patient, and supportive approach.
  • Ability to follow structured support plans.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
