Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Sport Background)
Location: Dinnington
Pay rate: £105-£115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are seeking an energetic and resilient Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to join a specialist setting in Dinnington. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or fitness who can use their skills to engage and motivate students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Main Responsibilities of SEMH TA:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Use sports-based activities to engage students and promote positive behaviour.
- Support behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies.
- Encourage teamwork, resilience, and emotional regulation.
- Assist in delivering structured lessons and physical activities.
- Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support individual needs.
Requirements of SEMH TA:
- Background in sports coaching, fitness, or physical education.
- Experience working with young people, ideally with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Energetic, patient, and resilient approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
