Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Birmingham
Pay rate: £95-£110 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you a calm, resilient, and supportive Behaviour Mentor who can make a real difference in young people’s lives?
GSL Education are looking for a passionate Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about guiding students, helping them manage their behaviour, and supporting their personal development within a positive learning environment.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who need additional behavioural and emotional support. You will help them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships with staff and peers. The successful candidate will be patient, consistent, and confident in managing challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural needs
- Support students in managing emotions and improving behaviour
- Use de-escalation strategies to handle challenging situations calmly
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and attendance
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN teams
- Support students’ social and emotional development
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and supportive attitude
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
