Pay rate: £100 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)

Do you have the experience and confidence to support teaching and learning at a higher level?
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with schools in Northumberland, supporting teachers and leading learning activities across the classroom.
As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting lesson delivery, leading small group sessions, and occasionally covering classes, helping to ensure students remain engaged and make progress in a positive learning environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher.
- Lead small group interventions and support targeted learning activities.
- Cover lessons in the absence of the teacher where required.
- Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional needs.
- Help maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support student progress.
Requirements of HLTA:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
- Previous experience working in a school setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Confidence in leading learning activities independently.
- A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
