Nursery Nurse

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible

A supportive and inclusive school setting in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a caring and dedicated Nursery Nurse to join their team. This Nursery Nurse role is ideal for someone with a passion for early years education and experience supporting children with additional needs, including SEN and sensory needs.

The successful Nursery Nurse will work closely with teaching staff to support young children in a nurturing and structured environment. As a Nursery Nurse, you will provide support with learning, development, and personal care, ensuring all children feel safe, supported and engaged.

Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Nurse:

  • Supporting children with early years development and learning activities.
  • Providing personal care in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Supporting children with sensory needs and adapting activities accordingly.
  • Working with pupils with SEN, including ASD and developmental needs.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, communication and engagement.
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Ideal Nursery Nurse Will:

  • Have previous experience working within an early years or SEN setting.
  • Be confident supporting children with personal care and sensory needs.
  • Be patient, nurturing and attentive.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hold a relevant childcare qualification (desirable).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

This Nursery Nurse role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
