SEN Teaching Assistant – Dudley (DY5)

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a well-established specialist provision in Dudley (DY5). This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs, severe learning difficulties, autism, and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

This setting caters for pupils aged 3–19, offering a highly personalised curriculum designed to support both academic progress and life skills development. You will be joining a nurturing environment where safeguarding is embedded throughout and staff work closely with families to ensure every learner is prepared for their next stage in education or adulthood.

Your Role

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist with personalised learning programmes
  • Help manage challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive manner
  • Promote independence, communication, and social development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or complex needs (desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, resilient, and caring approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

Requirements

  • Must be registered with GSL Education before full school details are disclosed
  • Must hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
  • Relevant qualifications or training are advantageous but not essential
