Job Title: Sports Coach / Learning Support

Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediate

A number of secondary school settings in Sheffield are seeking energetic and confident individuals with a sports background to support students in both classroom and practical learning environments.

These schools in Sheffield are looking for staff who can bring structure, consistency and engagement into the classroom. There is a strong focus on creating a supportive, inclusive and trauma-informed environment where students feel regulated, safe and ready to learn.

About the Role:

This role is ideal for individuals from a sports coaching, fitness or active background who are looking to transition into education. You will not be working as a traditional sports coach every day, but your skills will be used to support behaviour, engagement and learning across a range of subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities
  • Supervise and support students across KS3 and KS4
  • Use sports and coaching experience to encourage engagement and participation
  • Support students with behaviour, focus and emotional regulation
  • Assist in practical or PE-based activities when required
  • Build positive relationships with students to promote learning
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work or similar active roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident managing groups of young people
  • Calm, consistent and adaptable approach
  • Passion for supporting young people’s development
