Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham S25 / Dinnington
Salary: £460 - £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, an exciting opportunity awaits you in a local school based in Rotherham / Dinnington, who are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the team.

About the Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom
  • Assist with behaviour regulation and emotional support strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff
  • Encourage positive engagement in learning
  • Support individual learning plans
  • Promote a safe and structured environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting SEMH or behavioural needs is preferred
  • Strong patience, resilience, and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Calm and consistent approach in challenging situations
