We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school based in Salford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting young people in their education and personal development.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will provide classroom support, behaviour mentoring, and pastoral guidance to ensure all pupils can achieve their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting
- Experience supporting secondary-aged students
- Youth work experience
- Experience working in summer clubs, sports holiday clubs, or similar settings
- SEN (Special Educational Needs) experience
- Pastoral care or mentoring experience
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Confidence building positive relationships with students and staff
- A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students in lessons on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Providing pastoral support to students who may need additional guidance
- Supporting students with SEN and additional learning needs
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment
