Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Pay rate: £100-£110 Per Day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Dinnington (S25). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may need additional guidance to manage their emotions and engage in learning.

As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with pupils to provide consistent support, helping them build confidence, improve behaviour, and succeed in the classroom.

Key Duties of SEMH TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships to encourage engagement.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Help create a structured and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and share feedback with staff.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain consistent and supportive in challenging situations.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ wellbeing and development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
