1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Near Market Weighton (YO43)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time / Ongoing
Salary: £92 – £120 per day
GSL Education is seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 4 pupil within a specialist alternative provision setting. This is a highly rewarding role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS4 pupil with additional needs.
- Support engagement with learning, helping to build confidence and routine.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation.
- Adapt activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs and learning style.
- Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have:
- Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs.
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- The ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations.
- Experience in education, care, youth work, or support roles (desirable).
- A driving licence is beneficial due to the location.
