Maths Teacher

Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start date: April 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

If so, then we at GSL Education Kent would love to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a large, all-through academy located in Canterbury. The selected Maths Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5, helping students to develop strong problem-solving skills and a genuine appreciation for the subject.

The school is a progressive and inclusive 3-19 academy. As one of the largest educational establishments in the region, it offers extensive facilities and diverse opportunities for both students and staff. The successful Maths Teacher will join a supportive and collaborative Mathematics department dedicated to raising attainment and fostering a love of numbers and logical thinking.

As a Maths Teacher, you will be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Inspire confidence in students, helping them to develop strong numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and provide targeted support to ensure all students achieve their potential.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Mathematics examinations.

To be considered for this Maths Teacher role, the candidate must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Mathematics.
  • Have experience teaching Maths at secondary school level, including Key Stage 4.
  • Possess strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for mathematics.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Meet GSL's safer recruitment background checks.
  • Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
