Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham (S25)
Salary: Up to £220 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

A specialist setting in the Rotherham (S25) area is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This school provides a structured, supportive and trauma-informed environment for students with SEMH needs. Staff work closely together to build consistency, trust and positive relationships, helping students re-engage with learning and develop both academically and personally. About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges. You will focus on engagement, behaviour support and creating a safe, predictable and positive learning environment that supports progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for students with SEMH needs
  • Use trauma-informed and behaviour-supportive approaches to engage learners
  • Build strong, consistent and trusting relationships with students
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and individual support plans
  • Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams and wider professionals
  • Monitor and track student progress and emotional development
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working with SEMH or additional needs in a school setting
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
  • Calm, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build rapport with students who may present challenging behaviour
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable learners in a structured environment
